Japanese summers are known for great festivals where, in the cool of the evening, there are wonderful fireworks displays and joyous celebrations.
This unique Japanese greetings card is a lovely way to send best wishes and a small gift all in one.
The traditional Japanese fan is known as an 'uchiwa' and is made from bamboo and washi paper. The round paddle fan has a colourful design featuring traditional yōkai magical creatures dancing under the fireworks on a blue background. On the reverse side a bear and a tiger share candy floss on a natural buff coloured background.
The fan comes with a cute matching envelope and a notelet for you to write your own message. It is an ideal size to carry around and makes a fun, convenient way to keep cool on warm summer days.
The fan measures about 18 cm (7") from top to bottom and 11.5 cm (4½") across the widest part.
The notelet measures about 11 cm x 7 cm (4¼" x 2¾") and the envelope is 12 cm x 18.5cm (4¾" x 7¼").
Once the card is sealed, you can send it as a Royal Mail Large Letter (UK).
Made in Japan.
