The traditional round Japanese fan is known as an 'uchiwa' and is made from bamboo and washi paper. The design on the front of this fan features colourful traditional characters, monsters and 'bakemono' from Japanese folklore on a black background.
On the reverse of the fan there are two characters, Bakeneko (a supernatural cat) and the Kappa water demon, on a pink background.
The fan comes with a matching envelope and plain notelet for you to write your message.

The fan measures about 18 cm (7") from top to bottom and 11.5 cm (4½") across the widest part.
